Conductor invited by several orchestras and choirs, Luc Baghdassarian is the head of the Gymnasium Orchestra in Lausanne and the artistic director of the Orchestre de Ribaupierre, the Union Chorale de Vevey and the Dele Yaman Choir.

After graduating in orchestra conducting and winning first prize for virtuosity in both piano and chamber music at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Luc Baghdassarian became a renowned musician throughout Europe, Canada and Argentina, where he has performed as both a concert and chamber music artist and conductor. His musical and expressive qualities, his deep respect for the score, his clarity and the efficiency of his conducting have been unanimously acknowledged by the critics.

Luc Baghdassarian perfected his skills as an orchestra conductor in Vienna under the guidance of Karl Oesterreicher and Erwin Acell, and subsequently in Florence and Milan under the leadership of the eminent Maestro Carlo Maria Giulini, who acclaimed him the winner of the International Conducting Competition in Italy. Luc was also First-Prize Winner of the International Competitions for Conductors in 2002 in Grenchen (Switzerland) as well as in 2005 in Vienna (Austria).

He has appeared with many symphony orchestras, leading in particular the prestigious orchestras of Rumania, l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, the Amadeus Ensemble of Paris, the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hermitage Symphonic Orchestra of St. Petersburg.
